University of Law
Hyderabad,
India
December

Co-organized
with
NALSAR
University of Law and
University
of Oklahoma College of Law
DESCRIPTION
The
intellectual property regime in India has undergone major changes in the
last five years in an effort to conform its laws to the TRIPs Agreement
of the World Trade Organization. Considerable efforts have also been
undertaken to build capacity among lawyers, judges, academics,
scientists, and other technical professionals. To share experience,
ideas and perspectives, this conference brings together leading
academics in the intellectual property area to discuss recent trends and
developments in intellectual property law and policy. The event seeks to
promote a dialogue between Western and Asian academics.
The
conference focuses on the changes in IP legislations and their impacts
on health care, generic drugs, biotechnology-related issues, copyright,
food security, sui generis protections, competition law, data
exclusivity, and private vs. public domains of IP. Indian perspectives
will be highlighted by speakers from the academia, the practicing bar,
and local industries.
